            Welcome to Music Academy International, a professional training and performance festival for young artists wishing to enter into a career in the performing arts. The 2016 festival takes place in the beautiful Old Goa Christian Museum. Young artists train with an internationally recognized faculty and perform in Concerto Concerts, Chamber Music Recitals, Opera Productions, Contemporary Ensembles, and Master Classes.

 

Our main motivation is to help young artists and experienced Indians to build their capacities by offering a space for musical training. We also offer the opportunity to participate in the OGMF with international artists compariendo escenac. We believe that education is the way of development of human and social capabilities and so the MUSIC ACADEMY assumes this task in order to facilitate local artists a space of human and artistic growth and development.

 

 

 

The OLD GOA MUSIC ACADEMY

 

A great 10 days experience of trainig and performing music!

 

 

A comprehensive performance and career based program for aspiring young performing artists in India. The OLD GOA MUSIC FESTIVAL provides an international atmosphere in which to train and perform.

 

 

PIANO ACADEMY

 

       The Piano Performance Studio provides young pianists with an opportunity to train and perform in an international setting with world-class teaching artists. The studio is open to young players as well as those that are completing their professional training. The program is designed for pianists that wish to study and perform both solo and mixed-ensemble literature. These opportunities include solo recitals, two-piano/four-hand repertoire, mixed-ensemble literature, which may include chamber music with either strings, winds, or brass, and mixed contemporary ensembles in collaboration with the Chamber Music Performance Studio.

 

Students receive private lessons and play on master classes with our internationally acclaimed resident faculty members. Young artists perform in solo recitals, chamber music concerts, and have the opportunity to take part in seminars that range from interpretive skills, instrumental repertoire, vocal studio accompanying with a focus on art song and aria work, and mixed contemporary ensembles.

VOCAL AND CHOIR ACADEMY

 

            Members of the Vocal Studio are offered a wide array of exciting performance opportunities that range from fully staged vocal performances with distinguished conductors and directors; vocal chamber music performances; opera galas; and collaborative vocal recitals with members of the Piano Performance Studio.

 

Training is provided in vocal master classes taught by resident artist-faculty and guest artists, acting and characterization classes, aria and song repertory, auditioning and professional-orientation workshops, voice lessons, and individual music and dramatic coaching round out the experience. 

 

For 2016 the Vocal & Choir Performance Studio will have two distinct divisions to ensure that each participant will have an individualized training experience in order to excel to their upmost potential.   The Vocal & Choir Academy is dedicated to the development of talented young singers and choirs who are at the beginning stages of their musical experience. Single singers and Choir can aply.

 

The morning session focuses on a curriculum that includes; vocal coaching and voice lessons, daily acting technique and performance practice for the lyrical stage, advance language study, aria and song repertory, and vocal master classes in operatic arias, focusing on characterization, language, and historical significance.

The afternoon sessions are reserved for staging and musical rehearsals to prepare for the many performances that take place throughout the festival.

 

Studio Artist performances could include secondary roles and ensemble in main stage opera productions, opera scenes concerts that include complete roles in one act operas, collaborative art song recitals, Broadway concerts, and opera gala performances.

 

Master Classes - Master Classes are a daily part of the training at Music Academy International and cover wide variety of specialties including; vocal technique, performance repertoire, audition techniques, vocal style, lyric diction, and role characterization.  The classes are taught by our resident faculty artists, and visiting guest artists. 

 

The Vocal Performance Studio will present the following works for our 2016 festival:

 

• Carmina Burana

• Bach Cantatas and Oratorium

• Common Chant / Sincretic experience of Sacred Chant.

• Ancient a Cappella Music

• Dido & Aeneas by Henry Purcell

 

All works are presented with the Music Academy International Festival Orchestra and are sung in their original language.

CHAMBER MUSIC ACADEMY

 

         The Chamber Music Studio provides a unique opportunity for a select group of instrumentalists to study and perform in one of the most beautiful regions in Europe. It provides for an international atmosphere so that players from different countries and cultures can share and exchange their artistic ideas, styles, and talents. The program is centered around training and chamber music performances that are presented as part of the Music Academy International Chamber Music Concert Series. All participants receive daily chamber music coaching and rehearsals, and master classes presented by world-class teaching and performing artists. Performance opportunities include chamber music concerts, contemporary ensembles, master classes provided by visiting faculty artists. Each participant will have the opportunity to audition for the Festival Orchestra of OLD GOA.

FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA

 

        Young artists that are accepted into the Chamber Music Studio will have the opportunity to remain for 1 additional weeks as members of the Music Academy International Festival Orchestra of OLD GOA.  The festival orchestra will perform at the OLD GOA MUSIC FESTIVAL. 

 

Members of the Festival Orchestra receive a scholarship and payment for their participation and have the opportunity to train under some of todays leading conductors. Opera and Oratorio performances for the 2016 season include Carmina Burana by C. Orff, Bach Cantatas and Romantic Piano Concertos.

 

Participants in the Chamber Music Studio benefit from a training and performance experience which increases their awareness of current European musical styles and performance techniques.  The seminar prepares players for professional auditions and can serve as a starting point for auditioning in Europe, Asia and America.
