We are enthusiastically hopeful that this interesting project will help renew the whole tradition of the Goan/Indian music heritage and scene, with special reference to classical and sacred music, as we intend helping local musicians & choirs to be exposed to the best world traditions of music and performance.

OLD GOA MUSIC FESTIVAL works at four levels:

  • Artistic/spiritual level (with the Festival itself)

  • Academic-historical level (with the Symposium)

  • Social level (with the social development projects, concerts and workshops in the villages).

  • Educational level, with art academy (with concerts, master classes in music academies and schools).

Welcome words from our Artistic Director

Mtro. Santiago Lusardi Girelli

Dear Friends,

We are glad to announce the creation of a new beautiful project, the OLD GOA MUSIC FESTIVAL.

Since 2014 we are working on the creation of Music Festival in Old Goa India. This festival will take place at the end of February 2016 at the great heritage city of Old Goa and will be repeated every year. We will have this Music Festival in four beautiful locations: the Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, the Church of the Santa Monica Convent, the Christian Museum and the Ruins of Saint Augustine, all of them beautiful and breath taking locations.

We have created a great Music Festival and and Musicology Symposium to research about the history of Goan Sacred and Traditional Music.

The Festival also have a social/educational project in which the artists will offer concerts and workshops around the villages and music schools in Goa, also working with the local choirs and musicians to help them to improve in their own music education.

We are enthusiastically hopeful that this interesting project will help renew the whole tradition of the Goan music heritage and scene, with special reference to classical and sacred music, as we intend helping local musicians & choirs to be exposed to the best world traditions of music and performance.  Our plan is to work at four levels: the artistic/spiritual level (with the Festival itself), the academic-historical level (with the Symposium) and the social level and the art academy (with concerts, master classes and workshops in villages and music academies and schools).

The full Festival will last 10 days and that will include 8 concerts, conferences, several lectures, round Tables, Common Chants, Masterclasses, worshops and Courses.

We believe that the beauty of music can transform our society and its individuals, we just need to give art the opportunity to resonate in us... once we start walking this path we will realize that its beauty will become our own beauty, and we will be able to build a society where justice, true and beauty would be genuine values living in us all.
