Music in India & Goa

Certainly the site of Old Goa invites the classical and sacred music, it is certainly more suitable than rock, pop or EDM .

But that's not the only reason. Classical, sacred and particular choral music is part of the Goan culture and was always practiced during the Portuguese colonial rule. Church choirs existed in every village and do so even today. Classical training for instruments was and is a part of the education in Goa. Thus it forms the backbone of Goan culture, whether practiced or not, it's inherited in their genes. Goans are a music loving folks.

Music is an art form accepted almost on the entire planet because it's the heritage of this form of human expression itself. As India possesses probably a huge pool of talent , it would be irresponsible to ignore it. Instead India could be a major player in the International arena, it might pay back immense credit and a much needed positive image boost in the eyes of the rest of the world. As we prepare to focus on a particular new topic each festival, Indian Classical music may find entry and thus receives promotion in front of an international crowd as well.
